Job summary

Stride, Inc. is seeking a Virginia-licensed science teacher for the Virginia Virtual Academy (VAVA). The position is remote with occasional travel for in-person events and professional development, typically 9-5 and about 40+ hours per week.

The base salary is $50,000 with eligibility for a performance bonus. A Virginia Secondary Science Teaching Certificate, a bachelor's degree, and the ability to clear a background check are required.

Responsibilities

• Provides rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
• Commitment to personalizing learning for all students.
• Demonstrates belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
• Differentiates instruction based on student level of mastery.
• Augments course content according to policies and procedures using appropriate tools.
• Maintains grade book ensuring student academic integrity and progress.
• Prepares students for high stakes standardized tests.
• Communicates with students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner.
• Travels for face-to-face PDs, testing, and school events as required (approx. 20% of time).
