Job summary

Varsity Tutors is seeking a High School Physics tutor for online, 1-on-1 sessions. You’ll set your own schedule, work from home, and earn competitive rates on the Live Learning Platform.

Applicants should have deep knowledge of mechanics, waves, light, electricity, and modern physics, and be able to explain Regents, AP Physics, and college prerequisites. Strong communication and adaptive teaching are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced subject mastery in high school physics including mechanics, waves and optics, electricity and magnetism, and modern physics.
• Strong conceptual teaching and problem-solving abilities with experience explaining physics concepts and solving problems.
• Curriculum awareness for Regents and AP courses; ability to adapt instruction using demonstrations, simulations, and scaffolded problem sets.
• Effective teaching methods; able to adapt to diverse learning styles and needs.
• Strong communication and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 1-on-1 online tutoring sessions with high school physics students.
• Provide on-demand tutoring opportunities as available.
• Adapt instruction to individual student needs and learning styles using demonstrations and simulations.
