Job summary

Texas Connections Academy (TCA) seeks an Advisory Teacher to support middle and high school students from a home office in Texas. You will assist with course selection, scheduling, and be the initial contact for student concerns across subject areas, coordinating with the School Counselor to establish counseling processes.

• Texas teacher certification in a secondary content area is required.
• Must hold or be willing to immediately obtain TxVSN Certification.

Responsibilities

• Advise students and families related to academics.
• Keep current on high school graduation requirements and communicate this to stakeholders.
• Assist with course selection according to state credit requirements and student needs.
• Advise on dropping courses and changes to schedules, adhering to policy.
• Review transcripts and ensure accurate online records.
• Collaborate to obtain and forward student records as needed.
• Develop crisis prevention and management plans and participate in SST.
