Job summary

Jobgether is listing a full-time, remote HIE Interface Engineer role based in the United States. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining HL7, C-CDA, and FHIR interfaces to enable reliable health data exchange across organizations.

You will work with EHRs, laboratories, payers, and patient access systems, mapping data, implementing secure API access, and ensuring production operations. A strong background in healthcare interoperability is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, health informatics, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in healthcare interfaces.
• Hands-on experience developing and supporting production healthcare interfaces.
• Experience with HL7, C-CDA, FHIR, US Core and REST APIs.
• Experience with data mapping, transformation, and interface testing.
• Knowledge of secure API authentication and authorization practices.
• Certification such as HL7 FHIR is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support HL7, C-CDA, and FHIR interfaces.
• Implement secure HER/health data APIs and FHIR mappings.
• Build and maintain data transformations and routing logic.
• Support integration across EHRs, labs, payers, and patient access apps.
• Coordinate testing, deployment, and troubleshooting of interfaces.
• Ensure security coordination for API access and production integrity.
• Document designs, workflows, and operational procedures.
