Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking an experienced HIE Interface Engineer to design and implement HL7, C-CDA, and FHIR interfaces and secure APIs for a statewide HIE project. Remote opportunity; candidate must reside in the continental US.

The role focuses on developing and supporting production healthcare interfaces, transforming data, and ensuring reliable data exchange across EHRs, labs, public health, and payers. Requires 7+ years of experience and HealthShare/IRIS expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
7+ years of relevant experience.
Hands-on experience developing and supporting production healthcare interfaces.
Demonstrated HealthShare/HealthConnect/IRIS experience.
Strong knowledge of HL7, C-CDA, FHIR, US Core and REST APIs.
Experience with mapping, transformation, interface testing, and production troubleshooting.
Understanding of secure API authentication and exchanging sensitive health data.

Responsibilities

Design and develop HL7, C-CDA, and FHIR interfaces.
Implement secure APIs and FHIR mappings.
Develop data transformations, routing, and interface monitoring.
Support EHR, lab, public health, payer and Bulk FHIR use cases.
Coordinate testing, deployment and production remediation.
Document designs and procedures; mentor colleagues; coordinate API access with security teams.
Take on additional tasks to support project objectives.
