Job summary

NAMI is seeking an Intern for its HelpLine to provide support and empower others dealing with mental health challenges. The role involves responding to calls and texts from Seekers, offering emotional support, and providing resources.

Interns will receive training and develop skills such as reflective listening and empathy. This unpaid internship requires a commitment of 8 hours per week for 4 months and requires individuals to be at least 20 years old and enrolled in an academic program.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• Lived personal experience with mental health conditions.
• Comfortable using cloud-based technologies.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and texts, provide emotional support.
• Record interactions accurately in call-center software.
• Attend weekly meetings for updates.
