Job summary

Availity is seeking a Corporate Counsel (Remote) to advise on healthcare technology, cybersecurity, and data privacy. You will draft and negotiate contracts, partner with Information Security on incidents, and ensure HIPAA/HITECH compliance across the business.

JD required with active bar admission; minimum 3 years' corporate/transaction experience is expected. The role is remote in the United States, reporting to the Associate General Counsel, with a focus on risk assessment and regulatory

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years at a law firm as a corporate or transactional associate and/or in-house corporate/transactional attorney.
• Experience advising cybersecurity incidents, incident response, forensics findings, remediation, and associated risks.
• Healthcare and/or information technology industry experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to healthcare technology and data privacy.
• Partner with Information Security on cyber incidents, threats, and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA/HITECH and state/federal privacy laws.
• Provide concise legal-risk assessments to business and technical teams.
• Support regulatory inquiries and manage payer-related regulatory obligations.
