Humana, Inc. is seeking a Research Scientist 2 (Remote) to apply statistical, epidemiologic, and analytical methods to healthcare data. You will design rigorous outcomes studies, diagnose program performance, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for clinical and business partners.

The role supports the Quality & Cost Strategy Analytics team, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and requires strong communication and independence on moderately complex projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Economics, Statistics, Health Services Research, Clinical Informatics, or related quantitative discipline.
• 2+ years applying statistical or epidemiologic methods to large datasets.
• Strong foundation in causal inference and study design, including observational studies and RCTs.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute outcomes studies to evaluate clinical, utilization, and financial performance of clinical programs.
• Apply causal inference and epidemiologic methods to estimate program impact.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses using claims and enrollment data to diagnose drivers and opportunities for improvement.
• Translate questions into defined analytical questions and hypotheses with senior scientists when needed.
• Develop high-quality analytical reports and executive readouts for stakeholders.
• Communicate findings and limitations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
