Job summary

General Dynamics IT seeks a Data Scientist to grow analytical and AI skills while supporting fraud, waste, and abuse detection in Medicare and Medicaid. You will collaborate with seasoned data scientists and engineers on analytics and generative‑AI initiatives to strengthen program integrity.

You will contribute to analytics tasks, EDA, and ML techniques, and help build generative AI components, including pipelines and embeddings, while delivering clear visualizations and insights to project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Statistics, CS, Engineering, Applied Math).
• 2+ years in data science, analytics, or related quantitative field.
• Proficient in Python or R for data analysis and ML tasks.
• Experience with Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib/Seaborn.
• Exposure to generative AI tools and modern ML frameworks.
• Familiarity with SQL and cloud data tools (Databricks, Snowflake, Spark).
• Understanding of statistics and ML concepts; ability to visualize data clearly.
• Ability to communicate findings to team members and partners.

Responsibilities

• Support analytical tasks across data science, ML, and generative‑AI projects.
• Perform exploratory data analysis and apply basic supervised/unsupervised learning.
• Assist building generative‑AI components like prompt pipelines and embeddings.
• Contribute to predictive modeling, anomaly detection, and other analytics for FWA.
• Build and maintain clean datasets using Python and SQL tools.
• Create visualizations to present trends and model insights.
• Document work and communicate findings with teammates and partners.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
