Job summary

Pipe Technologies is seeking a Director of Engineering to own the company’s engineering output in a hands-on leadership role. You’ll be in the codebase, shape architecture decisions, and pair on production issues while guiding ~10 engineers across two squads.

You will align with Product, Risk, Data Science, Capital Markets and Finance to deliver scalable, secure infrastructure and AI/ML model tooling for credit underwriting in a remote-first setup across North America.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in software engineering, with leadership experience in high-growth fintech.
• Hands-on: able to review code, debug production issues and make architectural calls.
• Experience scaling engineering teams and systems in early-stage or high-growth startups.
• Experience with regulated financial systems and risk/data collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own health, scalability and reliability of Pipe’s systems end to end.
• Lead ~10 engineers across two squads, setting technical bar and removing blockers.
• Set standards for code quality, testing, deployment and incident response.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Data Science, Capital Markets and Finance on roadmap and delivery.
