Job summary

Salute is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to oversee day‑to‑day data center infrastructure, including monitoring, equipment installation, and incident response. You will collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure maximum uptime and adherence to safety and SOPs.

The role requires robust experience with server, storage, and network hardware, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience supporting data center, mission‑critical, or colocation environments.
• Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting server, storage, and networking hardware from multiple vendors.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with the ability to respond effectively during high‑priority incidents.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience with asset management and maintaining operational documentation and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day operational support within the data center environment, ensuring reliable and efficient facility operations.
• Respond to incident tickets, service requests, and change orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Install, rack, mount, cable, and decommission server, storage, and network equipment according to industry and client standards.
• Prepare equipment for installation, including asset tagging, staging, testing, and documentation.
• Replace failed hardware components including drives, memory, power supplies, fans, and network modules.
• Monitor data center infrastructure using BMS and other monitoring tools; respond to alarms and abnormal conditions.
• Track environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow) to maintain optimal operating environments.
• Oversee vendor technicians during preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
• Support capacity planning related to space, power, cooling, and network infrastructure.
• Coordinate equipment deliveries, shipping, receiving, and logistics activities.
• Maintain accurate asset management records and update systems as equipment changes.
