Road Scholar is seeking part-time Tour Directors to lead NM programs. Local knowledge helpful. The Group Leader oversees academic and non-academic elements, delivers talks, and ties the program theme together, ensuring a meaningful experience for participants.

The role is part-time/seasonal, not benefits-eligible, with hourly rates $15.00–$23.00 plus tips. CTP Certificate or extensive tourism experience required.

Qualifications

• Group leadership experience in educational/travel program environments.
• Experience with individuals 55+ and handling different levels of physical ability preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience strongly preferred.
• Lives in program destination or has intimate knowledge of the destination.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to operate basic AV equipment and use a cell phone for communications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage logistics for the program and support educational delivery.
• Coordinate airport meet-and-greet, hotel check-in and activities.
• Review participant information and communicate pre-program details.
• Work with local guides and instructors to ensure content quality.
• Manage payments to vendors and program budget.
• Respond to issues and follow emergency procedures.
