Job summary

University of Pittsburgh is seeking a part‑time Grant Writer to assist with the development, editing, and submission of grant proposals, progress reports, and related materials. You will identify funding opportunities, coordinate outreach assets, and support budget preparation for multiple concurrent grants.

Ideal candidates bring grant writing experience, familiarity with early childhood or related funders, and comfort working within a university or large nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated grant writing experience with funded proposals.
• Experience writing for early childhood, K–12, human services, or related funders.
• Experience in university, intermediary, or large nonprofit setting with multiple funded programs.
• Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and Microsoft 365 products.
• 2 years of professional grant‑writing and/or non‑profit development experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists with development and completion of grant proposals, progress reports, letters of intent, and related documents through editing, formatting, coordinating, and submitting materials.
• Researches and identifies grant funding opportunities; manages and coordinates outreach materials.
• Coordinates with faculty, staff, centers, institutes, and other personnel to gather information for grant proposals; integrates sections written by others.
• Complies with all requirements, deadlines, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains records, schedules, and databases; tracks pending grants and contracts.
• Assists with budget preparations for grant proposals.
