Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking a hands-on Grant Manager to own the full lifecycle of federal, state, and local grants across four West Virginia schools. The role covers pre-award planning, budgeting, compliance, reporting, reimbursement, and closeout in a remote, WV-based setting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in grant management, experience with multi-state funding, and strong Excel and financial analysis skills. Travel is limited; work-from-home arrangements are supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Public Administration, Education Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of grant management or related financial management experience.
• Experience with federal and state grants, budgeting, reporting, and closeout.
• Strong understanding of linking grant activity to general ledger and financial statements.
• Knowledge of nonprofit/education grant environments and compliance requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) and financial trackers.

Responsibilities

• Own the full grant lifecycle across federal, state, and local grants.
• Manage grant portfolio for WV schools and expand to additional states.
• Translate grant requirements into practical accounting and operational processes.
• Maintain grant ledgers, track expenditures, update forecasts, and monitor balances.
• Prepare journal entries and assess allowability and compliance of costs.
• Coordinate invoicing, reimbursements, and drawdowns with funding agencies.
• Prepare and monitor financial and programmatic grant reports across systems.
• Support audits and closeout activities for grants.
