Point Loma Nazarene University invites applications for adjunct instructors to teach graduate-level courses in the Masters of Clinical Counseling. Courses are offered year-round in Fall, Spring, and Summer, with 8- and 16-week formats.

Classes are fully remote, with some synchronous and asynchronous delivery, and evening PST times. Adjuncts develop syllabi, deliver instruction, and assess students using Canvas and Workday.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. and DMFT preferred; MA/MS accepted with evidence of specialized experience.
• Online teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of graduate-level instructional strategies and student evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate class instruction for a graduate-level course according to department standards.
• Develop, deliver, and review course materials and syllabi.
• Evaluate student performance and provide substantive feedback on students’ performance in class and assignments.
• Utilize the Canvas platform for assignments, grading, and course structure.
• Promote student learning through synchronous one-on-one or small-group meetings during the semester.
• Input Final Grades in Workday.
• Provide accommodation for students via PLNU Educational Access Center.
• Attend events and meetings as identified by the department.
