Job summary

For People is seeking a Program Manager to lead a CMS data portal program, coordinating a cross-functional team across engineering, design, user research and support. This is a hands-on, fully remote role across the U.S.

with travel to CMS as needed. Start date anticipated February 2027, contingent on federal contract award, with a base salary range of $100,000–$160,000 and strong benefits including health insurance and profit sharing.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in program or project management, including managing government contracts
• Experience with open data projects
• Experience leading teams of 15–25 people
• Deep knowledge of agile product management
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Slack and GitHub
• Ability to oversee task order management including reporting, sprint planning, and project planning
• Experience facilitating stakeholder engagement across multiple government offices and data owners

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery for a cross-functional team of 15–25 across engineering, design, user research and support
• Facilitate partner meetings and unblock the team
• Coordinate with CMS offices and partner contracting teams; report progress clearly
• Identify and mitigate delivery risks
• Ensure compliance with contract, security, and accessibility requirements (Section 508, ATO)
• Maintain dashboards and seek efficiency gains through automation
• Oversee handoff from the current contractor with minimal disruption
