Job summary

Polsinelli is seeking a Governance Risk & Compliance Engineer to join our information security and data governance team. The role offers a remote work option, with a preference for the position to be based in Kansas City.

You will participate in governance programs, review client security requirements, complete security questionnaires, and help drive a multi-year roadmap to enhance data governance while advising on risk and regulatory compliance across the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CS, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong knowledge of risk and controls and frameworks such as COSO, COBIT, ISO, NIST, and ITIL.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a changing environment.
• Practical experience with information security risk assessments and audits.

Responsibilities

• Participate in activities associated with Polsinelli’s information and data governance programs.
• Review Outside Counsel Guidelines to ensure client security requirements and complete the reviews.
• Complete client security questionnaires in a timely manner.
• Support the execution of a multi-year roadmap to enhance Polsinelli’s data governance capabilities.
• Conduct analysis and advise on information governance topics related to legal and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor compliance with data governance policies and standards and assess risks.
• Collaborate and drive security/compliance initiatives across teams.
• Advise business units and technology leaders on information security risks and treatment options.
• Collect performance indicators and communicate actionable recommendations to leadership.
• Maintain current understanding of information governance best practices and regulations.
• Develop Polsinelli Data Governance, Information Security and Privacy Policies.
