Job summary

KBR is seeking a GNC Engineer—Remote—to lead design, development, testing, and real-time operation of advanced aerospace systems. You will bridge engineering development and flight/operational execution, applying deep knowledge of flight dynamics, control systems, and telemetry in a remote setting with limited travel to onsite locations.

Responsibilities include developing GNC architectures, evaluating mission-phase behavior, and ensuring robust, safe operations. This role requires U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field, plus 10+ years experience.
• Strong foundation in orbital mechanics/astrodynamics.
• Experience with flight software or embedded systems.
• Real-time or near-real-time operational environments.
• Telemetry analysis and command/response systems.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate GNC algorithms and architecture; verify design.
• Review flight software design to improve performance and operability.
• Evaluate system behavior across mission phases.
• Develop operational concepts for GNC systems in tests.
• Monitor vehicle performance and issue time-critical recommendations.
• Support anomaly resolution and contingency planning.
• Define system and console requirements for monitoring GNC subsystems.
• Maintain flight rules and operational documentation.
• Support system tests including labs, simulations, and hardware-in-the-loop.
• Validate telemetry, command pathways, and system responses.
• Contribute to development of contingency commanding capabilities.
