Job summary

Ursa Major seeks a Guidance Navigation and Controls Analysis Engineer to lead development of vehicle GNC capabilities. You will assess dynamic environments, select sensor suites, and establish guidance designs for flight-ready software across simulation, embedded implementation, and HIL contexts.

Role emphasizes 0 to 1 development of major flight control components, collaboration with vehicle design, structures, and avionics, and rigorous validation using multiple analysis methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, CS or related field.
• Experience developing GNC models and algorithms for aerospace/defense systems.
• Strong understanding of classical control, estimation and vehicle dynamics.
• Experience coding in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++ or Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain flight GNC systems for aerospace applications.
• Translate GNC requirements into models and embedded software.
• Develop simulations to evaluate guidance, navigation, and control performance.
• Coordinate with design to align vehicle parameters with control needs.
• Support HIL, flight test activities, and data analysis for performance improvements.
• Document designs and test results for stakeholders.
