Job summary

NexTurn is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Operations Engineer to manage GitLab administration, Geo replication, backups, and disaster recovery in a remote U.S. setting.

You design and maintain infrastructure using IaC, automate with Ansible and Terraform, and administer Linux/RHEL, Docker/Podman, and Kubernetes/OpenShift. You’ll monitor health with Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog and participate in on-call rotations to ensure platform reliability.

Qualifications

• GitLab administration including upgrades, Geo replication, and backup/restore.
• IaC and automation using Ansible and Terraform.
• Proficiency with Linux/RHEL, Docker/Podman, and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Experience with monitoring/observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
• Experience managing shared GitLab Runner infrastructure and CI/CD environments.
• On-call support, incident response, troubleshooting, and RCA.

Responsibilities

• Perform GitLab administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
• Manage GitLab Geo replication, backup/restore, and disaster recovery.
• Design and maintain infrastructure using IaC.
• Develop automation with Ansible and Terraform.
• Administer Linux/RHEL environments supporting GitLab.
• Manage containerized environments using Docker and Podman.
• Support Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.
• Build and troubleshoot GitLab Shared Runner infrastructure.
• Configure monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
• Monitor health, capacity, availability, and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotations and RCA.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Platform Engineering, Security, and Development teams.
• Automate operations and improve reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain documentation and runbooks.
