Job summary

The City of West Hollywood is seeking a dynamic GIS Solutions Engineer to lead the City’s geospatial portfolio within the Finance and Technology Services Department. This role spans administration, development, solutions architecture, and analytics to advance municipal GIS initiatives.

You’ll design and execute solutions that translate spatial data into actionable city decisions for leaders and residents. The ideal candidate will have hands-on Esri experience, strong Python/JavaScript/SQL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3–4 years of progressively responsible experience in GIS or related area.
• Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain the city’s geospatial infrastructure with scalable, high-performance systems.
• Publish, document, and maintain authoritative GIS data/services across platforms with clear metadata.
• Develop custom GIS applications/tools to streamline city operations and improve service delivery.
• Conduct spatial analysis to support data-driven decisions across departments.
• Create high-quality maps/visualizations for internal and public-facing use.
• Maintain GIS technology roadmap and modernize platform investments.
• Serve as the City’s primary administrator for Tyler Enterprise Permitting and Licensing.
