Job summary

Communities Unlimited, Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a GIS Analyst to develop, maintain, and analyze geospatial data to support decision-making, infrastructure planning, and community development.

You will perform spatial analysis, data management, mapping, field data collection, and GIS application support across the service area. You’ll collaborate with staff, utilities, local governments, and rural communities, creating maps and data products while supporting broadband initiatives and program

Qualifications

• Education options with GIS experience requirements.
• Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• GIS certification such as GISP or Esri certificate preferred, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Working knowledge of GIS, data management, cartography, data visualization, and spatial analysis; experience with Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or comparable platform; GPS and data-collection tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, validate, and improve GIS datasets and data quality standards.
• Develop maps, dashboards, visualizations, reports, and other geospatial products.
• Conduct spatial analysis, data queries, calculations, field data collection using GPS-enabled devices and GIS tools.
• Plan and coordinate GIS projects from data collection through completion with timely deliverables.
• Translate geospatial data into actionable insights to support planning and operations.
