Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a GIS Specialist I to coordinate, prepare, and process GIS information for utility mapping and data management. You will handle data conversion, editing, and metadata while supporting shared mapping products in a hybrid work setup.

The role requires an Associate’s degree (or equivalent) and 1–3 years in a similar GIS position, with familiarity of electric utility infrastructure and ArcGIS tools.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1–3 years of prior work experience in a similar GIS role.
Familiar with Electric Utility infrastructure and terminology.
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

Perform creation, conversion, translation, migration, and import of GIS data from various sources.
Edit, quality control, data manipulation and analysis of digital map data.
Integrate other system asset management programs into the GIS.
Develop QA procedures, standards, and protocols.
Archive and store digital media and source materials.
