Experimental Station, based in Chicago, seeks a Gift Officer to manage a mid-tier donor portfolio, grow major giving, and work closely with leadership on fundraising strategies. You will handle donor cultivation, direct solicitations, and event planning while ensuring accurate data in the CRM.

The role collaborates with the Senior Development Manager and Executive Director to advance donor growth and community impact, with flexible work-from-home options available.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive fundraising experience within a non-profit environment.
• Direct solicitation experience with a track record of securing gifts.
• Exceptional written communication for appeals and proposals, and verbal communication for donor meetings.
• Creative, action-oriented donor engagement tactics that drive measurable outcomes.
• Experience with data entry hygiene, gift processing, and basic financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage a dedicated portfolio of ~150 mid-tier donors as primary contact and develop long-term relationships.
• Collaborate with leadership to create cultivation and stewardship plans to increase retention and upgrades.
• Conduct direct solicitations for renewals, upgrades, and campaign gifts; coordinate donor recognition.
• Support annual fund campaigns and donor communications; assist with social media efforts.
• Plan and execute fundraising events and galas; manage guest outreach and logistics.
• Accurately log gifts in Salesforce NPSP, maintain clean CRM records, and generate progress reports.
