Job summary

The position requires strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and coding standards, with collaboration across clinicians and billing staff to resolve documentation queries.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years professional fee/revenue cycle coding experience or equivalent experience/training.
• Professional fee coding experience in Gastroenterology.
• Experience coding colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, EGDs, and ERCPs.
• Professional fee coding experience in Nephrology, including dialysis coding.
• Intermediate knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10 coding conventions, and clinical documentation requirements.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and commercial payer coding and billing standards.
• Prior healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain or exceed a 95% accuracy rate.
• Work registered queues and complete coding work in a timely manner.
• Resolve Claims Manager and Epic edits to ensure accurate coding.
• Apply dashboards and processes to monitor revenue cycle and coding quality.
• Communicate with clinicians and staff regarding documentation updates and corrections.
• Run reports related to charge capture, missing charges, and workflow throughput.
• Reconcile output statistics and perform medical coding.
