GLOBAL LANGUAGE STRATEGIES is seeking a freelance/contract linguist for English to German legal translation and/or editing to support a United States Government client. The role is remote and ongoing, with on-demand assignments and at least 15 hours per week.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens willing to undergo security clearance processing and fingerprinting. Three years of professional legal language experience and native German are required; Trados experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of professional legal language services experience.
• Native German language skills required.
• Extensive legal language service experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in a foreign language, linguistics, or comparable field.
• Must be able to use CAT tools; experience using Trados preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and understanding of language services.
• Advanced proficiency in reading/writing/listening and speaking in English and German.
• Available during 9-5 EST most days to take on-demand assignments at least 15 hours per week if needed.

Responsabilités

• Provide legal translation and/or editing services for a United States Government client.
• Work as freelance/contract linguist on an as-needed basis.
• Handle on-demand assignments and maintain timely delivery.
