Caterpillar's Electric Power Division seeks a professional to design, develop, and implement generator control switchgear automation. You will lead projects from concept through commissioning, delivering reliable control solutions for power systems, both independently and with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, PLC/HMI programming, and collaboration with CAD and field teams. A BSEE/BSEET or equivalent experience is required, with remote US-based work and 35–50% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE/BSEET) or equivalent.
• Experience with automation and control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with Dealer and Factory teams.
• Design, programming, testing, and commissioning of LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Collaborate with CAD for wiring and assembly drawings.
• Provide technical support to AES Sales and Product Support Center teams.
• Submit project documentation, reports, and expenses timely.
• Train and support technicians, customers, and internal teams on maintenance and operation.
