Liberty Company Insurance Brokers LLC is seeking a seasoned General Counsel to lead the legal team, shape strategy, and manage regulatory compliance. This remote role supports the CEO, Board, and executives across multi-state activities, with a focus on governance, risk, and strategic transactions.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of in-house leadership, JD, and deep insurance industry knowledge, driving value while safeguarding the company’s assets and reputation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school is required.
• Active license and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience; in-house leadership preferred.
• Insurance industry experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic legal counsel to CEO and Board and guide governance.
• Oversee Legal Department and outside counsel, budgeting and resource allocation.
• Manage mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments.
• Oversee regulatory compliance, risk management, and contract governance.
• Develop policies, training, and dispute resolution strategies.
