Qualifications

• J.D./LL.B. degree and bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience as a practicing attorney with substantial reinsurance transactional experience.
• Excellent analytical, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Strong ability to interact with internal stakeholders, business leaders, and external counsel.

Responsibilities

• Lead as lead counsel on domestic and non-U.S. reinsurance matters, including ceded and assumed contracts, commutations, and collateral arrangements.
• Provide reinsurance legal support on transactional matters (e.g., ILS, M&A) including due diligence and negotiation.
• Oversee reinsurance disputes, arbitrations, collections, and audits; manage outside counsel as needed.
• Represent the Company on reinsurance components of complex transactions and advise on regulatory and governance issues.
• Direct legal research on reinsurance and related topics; stay updated on law changes.
