Qualifications

• Experience in gas distribution, utility design, civil design, or related drafting/design work preferred.
• Strong experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar design tools.
• Familiarity with CADWorx is a plus, but not required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design drawings and construction-related documents for natural gas distribution projects.
• Interpret sketches, redlines, specification outlines, utility records, field notes, and client standards to develop accurate design deliverables.
• Create design drawings using CAD software and client platforms, including the client’s internal DDS system.
• Support gas main replacement, new service installations, relocations, upgrades, and other distribution projects.
• Perform pre-design and pre-construction site visits to verify existing conditions, gather field information, and support constructability.
• Review site proposals, surveys, base maps, utility records, and project data to support design development.
• Develop detailed design drawings from general project information, sketches, and field documentation.
• Ensure designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and safety expectations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, utility representatives, construction teams, and internal design staff.
