Responsible for supervising a team to ensure that funding processes are completed in accordance with all company standards. Responsible for maintaining and creating efficiencies for the document, funding, and post-funding teams to meet or exceed established service levels. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, where the company operates. The target pay range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out supervisory/management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
- Provide appropriate feedback and counseling to team members.
- Monitor staffing levels to ensure appropriate workflow to meet established service level agreements.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities by monitoring workflow.
- Ensure the team achieves all turn times including disbursements, shipping, funding, etc.
- Ensure team members are fully trained and current on all policies/procedures.
- Act as liaison with direct reports, internal staff, sales staff, vendors, and brokers to resolve issues and facilitate closing-related concerns.
- Provide exception-based review of loan conditions prior to funding and purchase.
- Create and implement solutions to improve/streamline workflow.
- Work with Post-Closing to resolve funding discrepancies.
- Maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Maintain highly confidential information concerning loan applicants.
What You'll Need
- Excellent knowledge of the mortgage origination process in wholesale lending.
- Knowledge of RESPA regulations as it pertains to TRID.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to understand complex problems and explore alternative solutions.
- Decision-making skills with moderate impact on department credibility, operations, and services.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules of others on short and long-term basis.
- Mathematical skills for recording, balancing, and checking results for accuracy.
- Ability to compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and reports, and to communicate technical information orally.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Advanced experience with specific software or ability to learn new systems (e.g., loan origination system).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in mortgage origination operations.
- 3+ years of experience in loan closing and funding functions.
- Previous management experience preferred.
- FHA & VA background preferred.
