Job summary

MFO Healthcare Partners is seeking a Fund Accountant to own the fund's financial operations, including NAV, LP reporting, capital calls, and audit-ready records. You will collaborate with the deal team on model integrity, waterfall mechanics, and portfolio economics.

You will also support compliance, valuation under ASC 820, and LP inquiries, while helping build scalable FP&A capabilities for portfolio companies. Remote role with travel to Boca Raton and New York.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in fund accounting at a PE firm, fund administrator, or Big 4 PE assurance/advisory; or strategic finance with fund exposure.
• CPA preferred, or equivalent technical accounting depth including ASC 820, partnership accounting, and complex equity instruments.
• Strong fluency in PE fund structures including LP/GP economics, waterfalls (American and European), hurdle and catch‑up mechanics.
• Hands‑on financial modeling skills; build and audit a deal model, fund‑level cash flow, and waterfall from scratch in Excel.
• Ability to work from a blank page in a small-team environment and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Own quarterly and annual fund accounting cycles, including NAV calculations and partner allocations.
• Manage capital calls and distributions, LP notices, wire mechanics, and reconciliation across fund and SPVs.
• Coordinate with fund administrator, auditors, and tax preparers; ensure audit-ready documentation.
• Maintain chart of accounts and supporting workpapers; keep processes audit-ready.
• Own fund-level cash, expense allocations, and management company finances.
• Pressure-test investment models and IC memos for internal consistency and scenarios.
• Own the fund-level economic model—MoM, IRR, fees, carry, hurdle, and waterfall mechanics.
• Build LP-facing cash flow and return projections; reflect modeled economics accurately.
• Develop views on structuring questions including co-invest vehicles and GP economics.
• Produce quarterly LP reports, capital statements, and performance summaries.
• Support LP DDQ responses and LP inquiries; maintain LP reporting templates.
• Maintain ASC 820 valuation process with inputs from deal team and valuation advisors.
• Support regulatory filings (Form ADV, Form PF) with outside counsel.
• Maintain internal control policies and flag issues to deal team early.
• Track portfolio KPIs and support quarterly reviews.
