Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience with backend focus.
• Experience with TypeScript and scalable backend systems.
• Strong PostgreSQL design, queries, and optimization.
• Hands-on Prisma ORM with PostgreSQL and migrations.

• Familiarity with automated testing and production deployment best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services for subscription management, orders, and notifications.

What you’ll do:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services supporting subscription management, order processing, prescription workflows, fulfillment operations, and automated notifications.
• Collaborate with the client’s engineering team to complete and prepare a new subscription and order management platform for production.
• Design, implement, and validate data migration processes for existing subscriptions, historical records, and related business data.
• Support a phased production rollout, ensuring the new platform operates reliably alongside the existing Stripe-based subscription system.
• Develop and execute testing strategies to validate data integrity, system functionality, and migration accuracy throughout deployment.
• Improve staging and testing environments by implementing reproducible synthetic or masked datasets to support reliable testing and deployment procedures.
• Troubleshoot integration issues, optimize backend processes, and contribute to system reliability, scalability, and maintainability.Collaborate directly with an international engineering team, communicate progress and blockers, and independently manage assigned development tasks.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, technical discussions, and weekly team meetings, maintaining consistent communication with European-based colleagues.

What we’re looking for:

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on backend development and production-grade applications.
• TypeScript: Strong hands-on experience developing scalable, maintainable applications using TypeScript, with advanced proficiency in its type system, including interfaces, generics, type inference, and type-safe application design.
• PostgreSQL: Solid experience designing, developing, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases, including relational data modeling, complex SQL queries, performance optimization, and ensuring data integrity.
• Prisma ORM: Hands-on experience with Prisma ORM and TypeScript with PostgreSQL, including schema design, database migrations, type-safe queries, relational data management, and efficient database operations.
• Solid experience designing, developing, and maintaining backend services, APIs, and database-driven applications.
• Experience working with subscription management, order processing, payment integrations, or transactional systems.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and complex data migration processes.
• Hands-on experience implementing and validating data migrations while maintaining data integrity and minimizing production disruption.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and services, preferably including Stripe or similar payment and subscription platforms.
• Familiarity with automated testing, staging environments, and production deployment best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and contribute to reliable, scalable software solutions.
• Strong written and spoken English for daily communication with international teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage work independently.
• Availability for at least 4 hours of overlap with European working hours, including participation in scheduled team meetings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  Nice-to-have:
• Experience with healthcare-related platforms, prescription management, or fulfillment workflows.
• Hands‑on experience with Stripe subscriptions, billing APIs, or payment processing integrations.
• Familiarity with incremental system migrations, legacy platform modernization, and phased production rollouts.
• Experience creating synthetic or masked test data and improving automated testing processes.
• Experience working with distributed engineering teams in staff augmentation environments.
