Job summary

Stack Builders is seeking a Software Developer to join a 100% remote, long-term engagement. You will work on backend-focused maintenance and development, helping keep the platform reliable and advancing AI-enabled workflows across projects.

The role calls for strong Java (Maven) and Node.js experience, full-stack capabilities, and a commitment to high-quality software delivery with excellent communication in English.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years developing with Java (Maven) and Node.js.
• Full-stack experience across frontend and backend.
• Strong AI skills with Generative AI to improve software delivery.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines; Buildkite familiarity.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain services and web applications using Java, Maven, and Node.js for product demos.
• Contribute to maintenance and component development for the client’s web platform.
• Work through backlog items such as technical debt, dependency updates, bug fixes, and supporting tasks for active epics.
• Use Buildkite and CI/CD practices to support reliable builds and delivery.
• Collaborate directly with the client’s engineering team, communicate progress and blockers, and manage assigned work independently.
• Contribute to infrastructure changes, web applications, and AI workflow improvements as project priorities require.

• Build and maintain services and web applications using Java, Maven, and Node.js for product demos.

What we’re looking for:

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years developing software using Java (Maven) and Node.js.
• Full-stack software development experience, with expertise in building production-grade applications across frontend and backend technologies.
• Strong critical thinking when evaluating and applying AI technologies, with proven experience using Generative AI to improve software delivery while maintaining engineering quality.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with Buildkite are required.
• Strong written and spoken English for frequent communication with the client.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to manage work with a high degree of autonomy.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a plus.
