Job summary

Mutual of Omaha is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to drive modernization efforts within Workplace Solutions by building scalable integrations between on-premises and cloud systems. You will lead end-to-end development, testing, and integration of modern applications and APIs that support our Group Insurance initiatives.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in backend development with Java/Spring Boot and Groovy, experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ, AWS, and MuleSoft, and a passion for scalable, secure

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend development with Java, Spring Boot, and Groovy.
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, including contracts.
• Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with AWS and containerized microservices.
• Experience with MuleSoft or similar integration tech.
• Experience with MongoDB or enterprise databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development, testing, and integration of modern applications and systems that enhance Group Insurance growth initiatives.
• Facilitate brainstorming sessions to generate innovative solutions, develop high-performance applications, APIs, and data solutions.
• Adapt to various roles, whether as an individual contributor, leader, teacher, or mentor, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Build understanding of business objectives within Workplace Solutions and deliver solutions that meet expectations.
• Continuously assess and optimize applications for performance and scalability.
• Contribute to development, testing, maintenance, and integration of applications/systems.
• Build unit testing frameworks such as JUnit or Spock.
• Engage with team and external vendors.
• Evaluate options and performance tradeoffs.
