Job summary

Swyft Finance Pty Ltd is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to own a cross-platform product from early stage to shipping. You will deliver an Electron desktop app for macOS and Windows, companion Android and iOS apps, a local SQLite data layer, and cloud services on Google Cloud Platform.

This hands-on role covers the full stack, from UI to backend services and release processes. You will scope work with the founder, write acceptance criteria, build, test and ship.

Qualifications

• Strong React and TypeScript, with real-world Electron experience you have shipped a signed desktop app to users on macOS and Windows.
• Android development in Android Studio (Kotlin) and iOS development in Xcode (Swift) with production companion apps.
• Deep SQLite knowledge: schema design, migrations, performance, and syncing with cloud source of truth.
• Production GCP experience: Cloud Run or GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, IAM, Secret Manager, and CI/CD.
• Node.js backend experience: REST APIs, WebSockets, Postgres.
• Defensive engineering mindset: handle offline and retry paths, read and extend code quickly.
• Comfortable working remotely with a small team and a detail-driven founder.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship the Electron desktop app for macOS and Windows, including packaging, code signing, notarization and auto-update.
• Build the Android companion app in Android Studio (Kotlin) and the iOS companion app in Xcode (Swift), including device permissions, background behavior and app store submission.
• Design and maintain the local SQLite data layer schema, migrations, indexing, and reliable sync between device, desktop and cloud without duplication or data loss.
• Build and operate backend services on GCP Cloud Run, Cloud SQL (Postgres), Pub/Sub, Secret Manager, IAM, CI/CD, logging and monitoring.
• Integrate with third-party APIs via OAuth 2.0 and webhooks.
• Write tests that match acceptance criteria; ensure robust error handling and recovery.
• Collaborate with our engineer on shared infrastructure, code review and standards.
