BetterHelp, a leader in online mental healthcare, is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join a diverse team focused on expanding access to therapy. You will own end-to-end feature development, write clean and scalable code, and collaborate across product, design, and engineering to deliver secure, high-quality software.

The role emphasizes ownership, curiosity, and modern development practices, including AI-assisted tooling, with an emphasis on security and privacy.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional web development experience
• Experience delivering full-stack features from start-to-finish
• Strong understanding of web development concepts and security best practices
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently in a codebase

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end features from design through deployment
• Write clean, secure, readable, and scalable code
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, designers, and other partners
• Design, integrate, and build internal and external APIs
• Develop new products while improving existing systems
• Write and optimize SQL queries and relational schemas
• Create and maintain complex backend services and algorithms
• Profile and optimize legacy code and new features
• Build responsive experiences across devices
• Contribute to code reviews and engineering practices
• Ship thoughtfully in an agile environment with CD
• Care for product and long-term success, and use approved AI tools wisely.
