Job summary

DMI is seeking a Remote Full Stack Software Developer to support a federal agency project. You will design, build, test, and deploy features across front-end and back-end using ReactJS and Python/FastAPI, with PostgreSQL and Docker in the stack.

This role emphasizes accessibility (Section 508) and secure, scalable cloud deployments. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience, familiar with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and GitHub Actions, and a track record in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-stack software development experience in a collaborative, team-based engineering environment.
• Proficiency with Python, FastAPI, ReactJS, PostgreSQL, and Docker.
• Familiarity with AWS and deploying cloud-hosted applications.
• Experience with CI/CD and IaC tools like Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Experience developing applications in a federal or regulated environment.
• Knowledge of Section 508 web accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy features across front-end (ReactJS) and back-end (Python/FastAPI) layers.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs using FastAPI with proper validation, error handling, versioning, and OpenAPI documentation.
• Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces using ReactJS in adherence to Section 508 accessibility requirements.
• Implement and manage data models, queries, migrations, and stored procedures in PostgreSQL.
• Operate within a trunk-based development workflow; commit small incremental changes frequently and use short-lived feature branches and feature flags.
• Package applications using Docker; support deployment of containerized workloads to AWS environments.
• Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests using pytest, Jest, and React Testing Library.
• Maintain technical documentation, including API docs, data model diagrams, architecture decision records, and developer guides.
