Job summary

DMI is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer to support the ongoing development, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications for a federal agency. You will design, develop, test, and deploy features across front-end (ReactJS) and back-end (Python/FastAPI) layers.

The role emphasizes building RESTful APIs, data models in PostgreSQL, Dockerized deployments to AWS, and adherence to Section 508 accessibility.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python, FastAPI, ReactJS, PostgreSQL, and Docker.
• Familiar with AWS cloud services to deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud-hosted applications.
• 3+ years of full-stack software development experience in a collaborative, team-based environment.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline concepts and IaC tooling such as Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Experience developing applications in a federal or regulated environment.
• Familiarity with Section 508 web accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy features across front‑end (ReactJS) and back‑end (Python/FastAPI) layers.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs using FastAPI with proper validation, error handling, versioning, and OpenAPI documentation.
• Develop responsive, accessible front‑end interfaces using ReactJS in adherence to Section 508 accessibility requirements.
• Implement and manage data models, queries, migrations, and stored procedures in PostgreSQL.
• Operate within a trunk‑based development workflow; commit small incremental changes frequently and use short‑lived feature branches and feature flags.
• Package applications using Docker; support deployment of containerized workloads to AWS environments.
• Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests using pytest, Jest, and React Testing Library.
• Maintain technical documentation, including API docs, data model diagrams, architecture decision records, and developer guides.
