Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Maintenance and Repair Technician for its Fuels Program based in Collinsville, IL. The position is fully remote and supports field activities across the United States.

Ideal candidates have a strong mechanical background, experience with fueling systems, and the ability to travel up to 75%. The role requires the ability to obtain a CAC and pass background checks, with an emphasis on safety and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret scopes of work, project drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of OSHA Construction Safety certifications and/or relevant industry certifications from API, STI and/or ICC is desirable.
• Knowledge of basic hand / power tool use.
• Basic mechanical / electrical understanding is desirable.
• Experience executing on-site fuel system repair activities and system maintenance / inspection activities affiliated with U.S. military fueling systems is desirable.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years old
• Must be able to obtain a DOD Common Access Card (CAC) within first 6 months of employment and/or pass a favorable Background Investigation (FBI).
• Must be able to pass a DOT post-employment physical.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed, approximately 75%

Responsibilities

• Maintains effective communications with client, subcontractors, and Tetra Tech’s Project Management team.
• Implements, plans, executes and monitors work activities to ensure project execution complies with internal and external timelines and objectives.
• Schedules and conducts on-site meetings with the client and subcontractors as required
• Liaises with client and prevailing government agency representatives as required.
• Resolves operational, customer, contractor or technical problems that impact the effectiveness of the repair projects.
• Execution of periodic maintenance and minor repairs to petroleum handling systems.
• Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
• Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Additional duties as required.
