Job summary

SearchApi is seeking a builder-designer hybrid who makes a developer-facing product feel premium. You’ll design in Figma and ship it yourself in Hotwire, owning features from design to production.

The role emphasizes taste, execution, and a passion for developer tools in a small, bootstrapped team. You’ll work on a frontend stack including Rails 8 with Hotwire, Tailwind CSS, ViewComponent, esbuild, and native HTML-first approaches.

Qualifications

• Designed and built production frontend yourself with a strong sense of taste.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship features from Figma to merged PR, using Rails + Hotwire.
• Own the dashboard, API playground, docs, and marketing experience to ensure a cohesive frontend.
