Job summary

Yoko Co is seeking a Front-End Developer to turn designs into high-quality WordPress sites. You’ll focus on Gutenberg block themes while also handling traditional themes and occasional other builders. Strong attention to detail and a passion for clean code are essential.

You will collaborate with designers, PMs, and strategists, ensuring responsive, accessible, and production-ready front-end work. A remote team environment and a flexible schedule await.

Qualifications

• Fluency in WordPress with experience building traditional themes and Gutenberg block themes.
• Proficient in HTML, CSS and JavaScript with responsive, production-ready code.
• Familiar with Git workflows and collaborative development practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development tools.
• Experience with Claude Code, Copilot, or Codex.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Build websites and features from design references, translating Figma into clean, maintainable code.
• Develop and maintain WordPress block themes using Gutenberg and related templates.
• Work with traditional WordPress themes and other page builders when needed.
• Write clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; implement responsive designs.
• Build front-end functionality with React where appropriate.
• Collaborate with designers, PMs, and strategists to deliver projects.
