Job summary

American Oncology Network is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant in Central Georgia Cancer Care. You will assist physicians with procedures, perform phlebotomy and lab testing, and maintain QA/QC measures to meet accrediting standards.

Responsibilities include specimen handling, documentation in EMR, preparing slides, and coordinating outside testing as required. The role requires attention to safety, compliance, and timely patient care across multiple clinic locations.

Qualifications

• One-year experience as a medical assistant in clinic or physician’s office with venipuncture.
• BLS certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control procedures before patient testing.
• Perform laboratory blood work.
• Draw blood and follow specimen handling procedures with accuracy.
• Prepare slides for evaluation and coordinate outside testing as needed.
• Maintain test logs and equipment records per regulatory standards.
• Document patient encounters and charges in EMR and ensure data accuracy.
