Job summary

CS Recruiting seeks a McLeod Staff Accountant in the United States to manage weekly and monthly reconciliations, GL journal entries, and financial statements using McLeod.

You will lead month-end and year-end close, monitor freight brokerage margins, and partner with leadership to drive profitability while maintaining GAAP compliance. This full-time remote role requires independent work, strong analytical skills, and the ability to scale finance operations for a growing logistics business.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with McLeod Software’s financial modules.
• Proven accounting experience in the logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, bank reconciliations, GL maintenance, and financial statement generation.
• Demonstrated capability to dig into transaction data, spot margin trends, and eliminate financial leakage.
• Ability to work independently and manage the accounting function end-to-end with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations accurately in McLeod.
• Prepare, review, and post weekly and monthly General Ledger (GL) journal entries.
• Produce standard monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow reports using McLeod.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes efficiently to ensure timely reporting.
• Continuously monitor brokerage margins, identifying revenue opportunities, pricing discrepancies, and instances of revenue leakage.
• Partner with leadership to track key freight brokerage financial KPIs (load margins, carrier costs, operational overhead) to drive profitability.
• Run both the strategic direction and tactical execution of the accounting function, providing insights to keep the business financially lean and scalable.
