Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Accounting & Controllership Manager to lead the monthly close with a focus on freight accounting, driving accurate reporting and process improvements across North American plants and distribution centers.

You will manage a small team (initially 2 direct reports), oversee end-to-end month-end close, and partner with cross-functional teams and external auditors in a hybrid work environment (3 days in office, 2 remote).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, economics or data analytics.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• 2+ years of team management experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end freight accounting and reserves for NA factories and distribution centers.
• Lead process improvements in freight accounting.
• Manage third-party provider relationships.
• Develop and supervise a small direct-report team (initially 2).
• Oversee month-end close and journal entries review.
• Drive automation using Excel, SAP BI/Analysis for Office, and data extraction tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
• Support SOX initiatives with auditors.
• Participate in cross-functional special projects.
• Foster accountability and operational excellence.
