Job summary

Akoya is seeking a freelance media and communications specialist to support client projects on an as-needed basis. The role requires the ability to hit the ground running, absorb overflow work during busy cycles, and scale involvement up or down as needs shift.

You will develop media strategies, craft press materials, pitch to outlets, and provide timely responses to inquiries while collaborating with other teams and serving clients directly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 5 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
• US citizenship and fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (public trust).
• Familiarity with responsible AI principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute media strategies.
• Write press releases and other materials.
• Pitch to media outlets and reporters.
• Prepare written responses to media inquiries.
