Zusammenfassung

SOSi is actively seeking qualified interpreters to join our team. The interpreter will support immigration courts, giving respondents a voice.

All languages are encouraged to apply and you will provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation between the target language and English, in person, over the phone, and via video remote interpreting. Responsibilities include sight translation, quality control of translated documents, and performing other duties as required.

Qualifikationen

• Legal ability to work in the U.S.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience with both simultaneous and consecutive interpreting, preferably in a judicial environment.
• Proficiency in English and target language vocabularies used in formal, consultative, and casual communication, including slang.
• Familiarity with U.S. Immigration System terminology (legal and criminal).
• Ability to perform simultaneous, consecutive, and sight translation accurately and maintain tone.
• Ability to maintain delivery pace and seek clarification when needed.

Aufgaben

• Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation between target language and English.
• Provide in-person, over-the-phone, and video remote interpreting for LEP individuals.
• Perform sight translation of documents.
• Provide quality control review of translated documents.
• Performs other duties as required.
