Job summary

Wealthfront is seeking a fully remote Fraud Operations Specialist responsible for daily fraud monitoring and investigations. The role collaborates with Compliance, Engineering, and product teams to improve detection, controls, and user experience across Wealthfront’s platform.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in fraud investigations, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication. A fast-paced fintech environment values proactive risk identification and policy development.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of fraud investigations experience in the financial services industry.
• Strong research and investigation skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information.
• Experience investigating fraud typologies such as Wire, ACH, Debit Card, Identity Theft, and New Account Fraud.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce well-documented work.
• Able to make sound, risk-based decisions with limited information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Curiosity and proactive approach to identifying patterns and emerging risks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate unusual financial activity for AML and fraud indicators.
• Conduct complex investigations to identify criminal activity and prevent fraud.
• Analyze transaction data to identify vulnerabilities and determine potential issues.
• Coordinate with Compliance and Engineering to implement automated controls.
• Present findings to stakeholders and contribute to policies and procedures.
• Support SAR filings and escalation as needed.
