Job summary

ExtraHop Networks, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer for the Framework team to tackle complex development challenges and shape scalable systems powering ExtraHop’s core products.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Security to deliver customer-facing features enabling detection, visibility, and automation at scale, focusing on high-performance core components and protocol parsing across distributed environments.

Qualifications

• Proven design and delivery of production software.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field.
• Strong C/C++ and additional languages (Go, Python).
• Experience with performance-critical systems and debugging tools.
• Solid networking knowledge and data structures understanding.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent collaboration and customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance core Framework services.
• Work across networking layers to enhance protocol support.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and document technical decisions.
• Participate in agile processes including sprint planning and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product and platform/infrastructure/cloud teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve production and performance issues; perform root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to platform modernization and explore new technologies with senior engineers.
• Participate in on-call rotations and improve observability and reliability.
