Job summary

Numeral is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join a hybrid role bridging engineering, product, and customer success. You will split time between direct customer engagements—onboarding, enterprise implementations, and technical engagements—and building software that scales solutions.

You’ll become an expert in Numeral’s usage patterns and translate insights into product improvements. This role suits someone who enjoys tackling technical problems with customers and writing production code,

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js) or willingness to learn another backend language.
• Experience with SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Comfort working directly with customers and explaining technical concepts.
• Ownership mindset from idea to production.
• Startup mindset; comfortable with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales and Customer Success on technical conversations, implementations, and onboarding.
• Debug customer issues across APIs, integrations, and production systems.
• Design and build product features, internal tooling, and automations that improve customer experience and engineering velocity.
• Own engineering projects end-to-end, from gathering requirements through implementation and deployment.
• Work directly with customers to understand complex workflows and translate them into product improvements.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
• Help improve our APIs, integrations, developer experience, and operational tooling.
• Become a trusted technical advisor for some of our largest customers.
